(Jennings rocking a Gumby-styled flattop at the McDonald's All-American game last year)
Last summer the college basketball world ridiculed top high school prospect Brandon Jennings for choosing to bail on his commitment to the University of Arizona and instead play professional European basketball. He chose fame and fortune over labs and lectures, and who could blame him? Well, a lot of people did. Since his bold move, Jennings has struggled to find positive press, but that's about to change given the recent start to Jennings' rookie year in the NBA.
Only three games into the season Jennings leads all rookies averaging 22 points per game, more than a few horse lengths ahead of 2nd leading scorer Johnny Flynn, who is averaging 14 a game. Jennings also ranks second among rookies in both steals and assists per game and 4th in rebounds (he's a guard, mind you). He has the highest "efficiency rating" among all rookies as well, which is interesting considering he was picked 10th in the draft - likely due to scouts' assertion that his skills were unrefined and underdeveloped because of the time he spent in Europe.
Consider the first couple games of the season as a big, "Suck it!" from Jennings to the haters. Brandon is a stud on the hardwood and likely will be for years to come. Instead of having a couple worthless quarters of college credits in Geology and Basket Weaving 101 he has over a year's worth of experience immersing himself in European culture. He's also rocking a fly Kid 'n Play flat-top, which we think will start catching on once the frohawk dies off.

Haha jennings is the man!
