Not much changed this week in the BCS Top Ten. The only change was LSU dropping out after a bitter loss to Mississippi. LSU head coach Les Miles (aka "The Hat") was unable to get his field goal unit onto the field before time ran out in regulation. The Tigers were on the Ole Miss 6 yard-line and a chip-shot field goal would've given the Tigers a win. Instead, LSU fell to 8-3 and "The Hat" is on the hot seat in Baton Rouge.
Oregon won a nail-biter in Tuscon that was lead by Ducks super-stud quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. The Arizona student-body left the stands ready to rush the field but Jeremiah had other plans. Masoli sent the game into OT after throwing a clutch touchdown late in the 4th. The Wildcats kicked a field goal in OT and the Ducks scored a touchdown to win the game 44-41. The win set up a civil-war showdown December 3rd in Eugene between Oregon and Oregon State. The winner wins a trip to Pasadena to play Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
The rest of the big BCS games all happen in two weeks on December 5th. Cincinnati plays at Pitt in a game that will crown the winner of the Big East. And of course, later that night is the biggest game of the season when #1 Florida battles #2 Alabama in the SEC Championship game. These three games will determine who gets invited to the BCS bowls and what two teams end up #1 and #2. We're not going out on a limb but our prediction is that Florida will play Texas for the National Championship in Pasadena on January 7th. McCoy vs Tebow should be a showdown for the ages.
