Sign of the apocalypse # 2,930,243: The Bengals are atop of the AFC North.
In fact, things are going so well that in their 17-7 win over the Ravens this past Sunday, the Bengals' Chad Ochocinco playfully attempted to bribe a sideline ref into maintaining a call on the field during a Raven challenge. It was all for naught as Ochocinco's dollar was rejected and catch was overturned.
Unless that ref was headed to McDonald's after the game the single Chad offered couldn't have been too much incentive. Unfortunately for Chad, I see that one dollar costing him thousands, as we can expect the NFL to slap a fine on him in the near future for his antics. Chad often refers to the NFL as the "No Fun League," and we can expect Roger Goodell to prove him right later in the week.
One thing I'm sure about is that Chad is not a financially-savvy guy, as evidenced by this exchange with Marvin Lewis about personal finance... compound interest? Say whaaat?!
UPDATE ALERT: Well, hate to say it but, "I told you so." The NFL has fined Chad Ochocinco $20,000.00 for his $1 "bribe" (it was an obvious joke to Chad, the ref, the media, sports fans, and apparently everyone else but Roger Goodell) of a sideline ref last weekend. Can't help but to feel the NFL has made Ochocinco a target here, especially considering DeAngelo Hall avoided a fine despite being involved in a physical altercation this past weekend. If reading about it doesn't quite do it for you, a video concerning the incident can be found on ESPN here.

Thats freak funny as hell!
