The wait for a fight between two of the largest freaks on the UFC roster will have to continue as the heavyweight championship bout has been postponed - again - due to current champion Brock Lesnar's battle with "the kissing disease."
Lesnar, the former D-1 Heavyweight National Champion wrestler and WWE superstar, was forced to pull out of the previously scheduled UFC 106 event that will take place in a couple weekends from now. It's now surfacing that the big man's apparently petite immune system will keep him out of the replacement date of January 2nd as well.
The victim of all this...? Shane Carwin. The contender has been bumped 3 fights in a row now, and because of it has presumably gone through 3 partial training camps with no payday.
When it finally does arrive, Lesnar vs Carwin will be one of the most anticipated bouts in UFC history given the background and size of the two fighters. Lesnar was the D-1 heavyweight runner up in 99' and champion in 00' while attending the University of Minnesota, he also is a genetic freak that has to cut weight in order to reach the 265 Lb. heavyweight limit. Carwin was D-2 runner up in both 96' and 97' and won the championship in 99', he is also freakishly large and has not let any of his previous 11 opponents get out of the first round.
Because of Lesnar's ongoing struggle with mono it appears we're gonna' have to wait even longer to see these 275 lb balls of muscle fight each other in the cage. For now feel free to watch the video promo below to wet your appetite for the eventual match-up of modern day Goliath vs Goliath.
